At some point late at night, a messenger arrived. She (yes- a female. This would be scandalous in Lashar!) announced that the queen would see us then and only then. We hastily dressed and walked briskly to the hall.
Elvadriandel sat at the front, brooding. The room was empty now, without even a guard.
